The Etac Patient Turner is a turner that facilitates transfers from chair to chair, i.e. wheelchair to armchair.
The Patient Turner is placed in close to the patient at their seated surface, the patient places their legs on to the footplate and should reach for the handle for support during standing and transfer. The carer should counterbalance the Turner with their feet at the base whilst the patient stands. Once in a standing position the carer can rotate the platform to line up with the next seated position. The carer again shoulder counterbalance the Turner at the base before the patient sits down.
The carer can maintain an ergonomic working position by adjusting the handle to the correct working height. The Turner knee block can be adjusted to the correct position for the user. The low 13mm high footplate is easy to position against chairs and wheelchairs and is easy for the client to position their feet. The footplate features a non-slip surface. The transfer can be performed safely with eye contact maintained between carer and patient.
